Remember to Wash Your Hands!

Now that the holidays are over and after all the hugs and kisses from family and friends, you may be relieved that despite the interaction, you escaped getting a dose of the flu. Well, the flu season is not over yet! We all must be careful not to let our guard down and since we spend so much time in the workplace, it is very important for employers to remind their employees of the importance of hand washing. Remember to post signs in washrooms to remind employees to wash their hands after using the restroom. Another good plan is an awareness campaign which can be delivered during meetings or just posted where employees will see it. A good rule of thumb (no pun intended) is to wash your hands whenever you change environments. One client did an awareness campaign last year and they believe that they saw a significant reduction of flu related absenteeism. So make it happen in your business. All it takes is an awareness campaign delivered early and often.
