Workplace Health and Safety

In House Human Resources was founded in 2007 by Bernadette Smith, CHRL, PMP. We are a human resources management company that specialises in looking after the small business employer. Initially, the company provided human resources services to small business owners. Over time and especially in the past 5 years, clients have become more aware of their responsibilities and the importance of due diligence under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. As a result, safety services have become a priority for them and us. We still offer human resources services but now In House Human Resources specialises in implementing health and safety programs and maintenance for the small to medium sized business employer.

Our clients are small business employers with about 6 to 200 employees in diverse industries. We particularly specialise in the produce farming and warehouse/distribution industries and have also provided services to automotive, collision, retail, reconditioning, printing, municipal government, bakeries, software engineering and not for profit clients.

We help all small business get and stay in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. People need to be kept safe regardless of where they work! Our goal is to help employers eliminate or reduce accidents in their workplaces. We quickly learn our clients business and provide them with quality service that complements their uniqueness. As a result, clients get an operational health & safety program in place that their own employees can operate and then they have us maintain it on a monthly and annual basis. In addition, clients are kept up to date for any new legislative requirements. We use readily available resources from the Ministry of Labour and other safety authorities that employers can easily access too but the difference is that we have the time and the expertise to put them all together to get you in compliance quickly and make your program work for you.

We take pride in our ability to connect easily with others. We take ownership of their objectives and goals and make them our own. The service delivered is of very high quality, this high quality service is an In House Human Resources staple.
